Iker empezó a desarrollarse como bailarín desde muy joven asistiendo a clases de jazz y hip hop en su tierra natal, Hondarribia. Desde entonces, su evolución como bailarín le ha llevado a compartir escenarios con cantantes y bailarines de referencia dentro y fuera de nuestras fronteras.
En su faceta como coreógrafo Iker fundó su propia compañía de danza en 2016. Destaca especialmente su pieza #7fm que ha sido premiada a nivel nacional e internacional y se ha representado en las principales capitales europeas y en numerosos festivales como el Battery Dance Festival de Nueva York.
Su primera producción de larga duración fue No pleasure, formó parte del circuito Danza a Escena 2021 y se representó en teatros de todo el territorio nacional. The Room Where It Happens es su última creación, la más ambiciosa, y cuenta con el apoyo del Centro de Cultura Contemporánea Conde Duque de Madrid.
A finales de 2022, Iker coreografía su nueva pieza corta, Table for one, en la compañía americana L.A. Contemporary Dance Company. Gracias al programa Spain dances del Departamento de Cultura de la Embajada Española en Washington DC, Iker realiza con éxito su primera residencia de creación en Los Ángeles, California.
En cine, ha coreografiado la película musical Voy a pasármelo bien, dirigida por David Serrano y en teatro, coreografía también los musicales Mamma Mia! (ganador del Premio Teatro Musical a mejor coreografía) yThe Book Of Mormon, producidos por SOM Produce y estrenados en el Teatro Rialto y Teatro Calderón de Madrid. En publicidad, su coreografía Haunted by Love para Vogue Spain, ha sido galardonada en La Jolla International Film Festival de California y en la Canadian International Fashion Film Festival como mejor coreografía. También ha coreografiado campañas para Bvlgari, Benetton, McDonalds y Cupra entre muchos otros.
Además, su videodanza heartache gana el Premio especial del jurado en el San Francisco Dance Film Festival y se proyecta en la Selección Oficial del Dance On Camera Festival en el Lincoln Center de NYC y en el Festival CineDANS en Amsterdam.
En 2018 formó parte del renovado formato televisivo Fama ¡a bailar!, inicialmente como profesor y, en la última edición, como director.
También ha trabajado con los ganadores del Óscar, AR.Rahman y Shekhar Khapur coreografiando el musical Why? The musical en la ExpoDubai 2020. Además, amplía su experiencia coreografiando grandes eventos internacionales como la Closing Ceremony de la FIFA Club World Cup 2023 con David Guetta y Bebe Rexha en Jeddah, Arabia Saudí.
Como docente, Iker ha impartido clases de danza contemporánea y jazz funk por todo el mundo en ciudades como Los Ángeles, Nueva York, Londres, Mexico, París, Roma, Nápoles, Praga o Bruselas, entre otras. Ha sido invitado en el Conservatorio Superior de Danza María de Ávila y en el Conservatorio Profesional de Danza Fortea.
Tras más de 15 años de experiencia en la enseñanza, Iker decide crear su propia escuela y proyecto artístico, 180, motivado por su firme creencia en el poder transformador de la danza y en su capacidad de conectar e inspirar a las personas.
Desde 2020 y junto a Fernando Lázaro, se encarga también de la dirección del área de danza de los estudios oficiales de la escuela de artes escénicas Som Academy.
Actualmente, acaba de recibir el XVIII Premio de la Danza de Gipuzkoa por toda su trayectoria y mientras tanto, Iker compagina la dirección de su propia escuela con coreografíar y dirigir las nuevas piezas de su compañía.

Currently, he has just received the XVIII Gipuzkoa Dance Prize for his entire career and meanwhile, Iker combines directing his own school with choreographing and directing the new pieces of his company.
